After a good few months of planning, I’m ecstatic to finally be launching SW Sports Performance. Formerly known as SW Triathlon Coaching; I decided that I would love the challenge of expanding the business and providing some extra services alongside the triathlon coaching.

It’s been great to have a fantastic coaching team on board and even better that they are all close friends of mine! Laura Weightman and Emma Keaton both attended Leeds Metropolitan University (now Leeds Beckett) with me and Emma Gage became a close friend after meeting her through my sister.

SW Sports Performance provides a range of services and each coach delivers a different area of expertise. The coaches consist of myself (Sophie Whittingham) as the triathlon coach, Laura Weightman is in charge of the running and Emma Gage is our specialised strength and conditioning expert.

Even though we have three highly experienced coaches at SW Sports Performance, we know it isn’t simply about training hard. Diet is also an important factor and an unsuitable diet will not help you reach your full potential and achieve your goals.

This is where Emma Keaton became involved. She is an NHS registered dietician and has an undergraduate degree in Sports and Exercise Science. By combining these skills together, she has built a wealth of knowledge in sports nutrition and understands what athletes need to reach their true potential.

All of us have many years of coaching experience and our passion to help athletes grows daily. Although we have been coaching separately for a number of years, I came up with the idea that it would be great to work as a team under one name. Ultimately allowing us to work together, share ideas and provide the best programmes possible for our athletes. Four minds are better than one!
